About our Construction Company
Skip Huston Construction was founded by Skip Huston in October of 1996. Skip successfully built a highly respected commercial, residential, and civil excavation business located in Montrose, Colorado. Over the years, Skip Huston Construction has earned a reputation of successfully completing projects on time and under budget. Throughout the decades in business, Skip Huston Construction has also demonstrated a commitment to excellence on all projects undertaken.
Skip Huston Construction is best known as a commercial contractor specializing in roads, parking lots, subdivisions, sewer, storm, and waterline installation, septic system installation, and agricultural irrigation pipeline installation to name a few.
In January of 2019, Skip made the decision to sell Skip Huston Construction so he could move into retirement. As part of that transition, he sold half of the company to Eric Fletcher, with the expectation that the business would continue to uphold the high standards he had built over decades. Eric and his wife Amanda later acquired the remaining half of the company, becoming full owners and continuing Skip’s commitment to quality and integrity.
Eric and Amanda feel privileged that Skip allowed them to keep the company name and continue his legacy. The team has decades of combined experience in the construction industry and have earned the respect of not only Skip Huston but also the Commercial Contractor community in Montrose, Colorado.

After taking some time to earn her teaching degree and spending 10 years in the public school system, Amanda felt called back to the family business. Today, she works alongside her husband and their two sons as a key member of Skip Huston Construction, a proud family owned and family run company.
Amanda oversees the trucking division and assists with HR and office operations. She still helps move equipment to job sites and is always willing to jump in wherever she’s needed. She feels truly blessed to be part of a company built on hard work, family values, and a commitment to serving the community.
Today, both Trenton and Kodi are active members of the family-owned business, learning the ropes across every part of the company. They are currently working toward earning their CDL licenses and continue to develop their skills in trucking, equipment, and job site operations.
Their dedication, work ethic, and willingness to step in wherever needed make them key contributors to the success of Skip Huston Construction and valued helpers within the community.
